This policy explains what personal data Original Minds AB collects through this website and when you buy our software, and what we do with it.

Who is responsible for your data

Original Minds AB, company registration number 559064-6807, Slånbärsslingan 22, 185 39 Vaxholm, Sweden, is the data controller for personal data described in this policy.

The software itself collects nothing

This is worth stating first, because it is the part most people care about.

Our audio plugins and applications do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. They contain no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, and no activation server. They do not contact us or anyone else after installation. Everything stays on your machine.

The rest of this policy is about the website and the purchase process, not the software.

When you buy a licence

To issue a licence file we need your name and email address. Your name is written into the licence file itself, which is what makes it personal to you. Your email address is where we send it.

We store the order reference, name, and email address for each issued licence. We keep these records so we can reissue your licence if you lose it, handle refund requests, and meet Swedish accounting obligations.

Legal basis: performance of a contract with you, and compliance with a legal obligation for the accounting records.

Retention: licence records are kept for as long as the licence is valid, which is indefinitely, since our licences are perpetual and we need the record to support you. Accounting records are kept for seven years as required by the Swedish Bookkeeping Act.

Payment data

We never see or store your card details. Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd, which is the merchant of record for all our sales. Paddle collects the payment and billing information needed to process your purchase and to calculate sales tax, and acts as an independent data controller for that data.

Paddle passes us your name, email address, and country, which is what we need to issue a licence and to keep correct records. See Paddle's privacy policy for how they handle your data.

Email delivery

Licence emails are sent through Google Workspace. Google processes the message in order to deliver it.

If you sign up for release announcements, we store your email address and use it only to tell you about new releases and updates. We do not sell or share it. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes your address.

Legal basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

Website hosting and logs

This website runs on Ghost, hosted on a server we control. Our web server and the Cloudflare tunnel in front of it keep short-lived technical logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting. We do not use these logs to build profiles, and we do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We share data only with the service providers needed to run the business: Paddle for payment processing, Google for email delivery, and Cloudflare for network security.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to your personal data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month.

Note one practical limit on erasure: we cannot delete accounting records before the seven-year statutory retention period expires, because keeping them is a legal obligation. We can delete everything else.

If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, IMY), or to the supervisory authority in your own country of residence.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use data you have already given us will be communicated directly where we have your email address.
